Director of Faculty Affairs, 240262

Michael Relf, PhD, Interim Dean

THE ROLE: Manages and conducts complex activities related to the School’s faculty searches, professorial appointments and promotions, faculty orientation and faculty peer review.  Supports and coordinates the work of the School’s Faculty Search and the Appointment, Promotion and Tenure Committees.

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledgeable of nursing profession and academic programs, willing and able to manage faculty recruitment onsite and manage the faculty appointment process. A Master's degree in a business-related field may be substituted for 2 years' experience.

Clinical Research Coordinator - Spanish-Speaking, 240910

Caroline McEachern, Research Practice Manager

THE ROLE: This position includes 100% effort to work on research studies focused on addressing the needs of English-speaking and Spanish-speaking patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and family caregivers during the transition home from acute hospital care. The candidate selected must be fluent in reading, writing, and comprehending in English and Spanish.

QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a Bachelor's degree, OR, Completion of an Associate’s degree plus a minimum of two years relevant experience (e.g., research, clinical, interaction with study population, program coordination).

Clinical Program Manager, 241443

Stephanie A. Gedzyk-Nieman, Interim Assistant Dean, ABSN Program

THE ROLE: Responsible for the clinical coordination of student rotations, as well as the recruitment, on boarding, evaluation process and development of Clinical Instructors (CI) for the prelicensure nursing program offered by the Duke University School of Nursing.

QUALIFICATIONS: Work requires a least three years of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse. Candidate must meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing administrative requirement for faculty regarding preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation as cited in the Administrative Code of the Board of Nursing within one year of hire.

Pre-Award Grants and Contracts Administrator, 241888

Jill Borland, Senior Director of Research Administration, CNR

THE ROLE: Provides proposal support and non-financial post-award activities for the Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) Center for Nursing Research following guidance from the Office of Research Affairs (ORA). Responsible for ensuring compliance in agreement to policies and guidelines set forth by funding agency, Duke University, and Duke University School of Nursing. Primary Responsibilities are focused on both pre-award and non-financial post-award duties.

QUALIFICATIONS: Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills requirements. generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. process. Research or grants education and/or certification is preferred. Successful completion of Financial Services Introduction to R3, Introduction to Duke GL, Introduction to Accounting, Sponsored Research Reporting, Research Administration at Duke (on-line), Basic Compliance (on-line) within first six months of hire is required. Successful completion of the Research Administration Academy (RAA) is required.

Program Coordinator, Interprofessional Education and Care (IPEC), 241746

THE ROLE: The IPEC Program Coordinator will provide critical organizational planning and support in collaboration with the Director and Assistant Directors in pursuit of the center’s central mission to prepare the current and future workforce as collaboration-ready, interprofessional partners providing high quality, team-based care to improve the health of individuals, families and populations.

QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires excellent program management/coordination, organizational, logistics, and planning skills. Strong people management and development skills are crucial. Additionally, the position requires strong interpersonal, cross-cultural, communication skills and flexibility, in order to interact effectively with faculty, students, administrators, Duke University offices, outside vendors, and office personnel. The ability to make independent judgments in situations with a high level of ambiguity is critical.

Manager of IT Service Desk, 24189

Carla Nichols, Director of Information Technology

THE ROLE: The Manager of IT Service Desk is responsible for day-to-day management of IT functions including, but not limited to security of systems and data, desktop support, hardware and software maintenance, support for student and employee computing needs and multimedia services.

QUALIFICATIONS: Work requires a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, or a related field or the equivalent course work and/or technical computer training. Work requires 2 years of progressive experience in a computer-related field.
