PhD student Judith Adams, Associate Professor Chip Bailey, and Virginia Stone Professor of Nursing Ruth Anderson published an article entitled "Adaptive leadership: A novel approach for family decision-making" in the Journal of Palliative Medicine.

Associate Professor Chip Bailey, Mary Ann Fuchs, DNP'10, and Associate Professor Paula Tanabe will be inducted as Fellows in the American Academy of Nursing during the Academy’s 39th Annual Meeting and Conference on October 13, 2012, in Washington, D.C.

Composed of the nation’s top nurse researchers, policy makers, scholars, executives, educators, and practitioners, the 2012 cohort is the largest class of inductees yet.

Associate Professor Chip Bailey received an award for his NIH R21 proposal entitled "Patient Self-management and Gene Guided Therapy for CHC" for a two-year period, awarded April 13, 2012, to March 31, 2014, at $431,750.

A cadre of Duke faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and doctoral students presented at the 26th Southern Nursing Research Society Annual Conference themed “Nurse Scientists as Crucial Partners to Health Delivery” February 22–25, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Associate Professor Chip Bailey published an article entitled "Measuring illness uncertainty in men undergoing active surveillance for prostate cancer" in Applied Nursing Research.

LOS ANGELES, CA – Donald Bailey, Jr., PhD, RN, presented the 2011 Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) State-of-the-Science Lecture, “Illness Uncertainty in Adult Cancer Patients,” today during the ONS 11th National Conference on Cancer Nursing Research in Los Angeles. Bailey is an associate professor at the Duke University School of Nursing in Durham, NC.
