Scholarships are funds that the Duke University School of Nursing provides to students to help cover their tuition. These funds are free to the student and never have to be repaid.
DUSON Need-Based Scholarships
Eligibility for DUSON need-based scholarships is based on the calculated expected family contribution (EFC) from the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). All degree-seeking students in the ABSN, MSN, and DNP programs are automatically considered for the DUSON need-based scholarship. Click here for more information.
NC Community College Faculty Scholarship
The NC Community College Faculty Scholarship covers 15 percent of tuition for new MSN-Nursing Education Specialty students who are faculty at a NC community college. Click here for more information.
Robert Wood Johnson Scholarship
This scholarship provides up to $10,000 to a select number of ABSN students from underrepresented groups in nursing or disadvantaged backgrounds. No separate application is required; your personal statement from your Admissions application will be used as supplemental material.
MSN (ANP/FNP) Scholarship
The MSN (ANP/FNP) Scholarship provides $22,000 awards through an ANEE grant for Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students. For more information and to apply, click here
Comprehensive Geriatric Education Program Traineeships
Students enrolled in the Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner major of the MSN program are invited to apply for a traineeship supported by a HRSA-funded Comprehensive Geriatric Education Program grant, which focuses on the development of a healthcare workforce to improve the quality of care of older adults. The traineeship includes a $30,000 scholarship of tuition support for full-time students and a $15,000 scholarship of tuition support for part-time students. Duke University Scholars Program
The Duke University Scholars Program provides 100% tuition funding and is awarded to a limited number of students selected through a competitive process.One University Scholar from the School of Nursing is selected from among the ABSN, MSN, and DNP cohorts of students entering the first year of their program in the fall.
