ACNP Summit Overview for 2009
Nurse practitioners practicing in acute care continue to be one of the most rapidly growing NP groups in the United States. The practice issues of acute care nurse practitioners (ACNP) are unique and include organizational management, practice model development, reimbursement, procedural competency, outcomes research and credentialing. The first ACNP Summit took place in 2008 in Rochester, NY and the group selected Duke University in Durham, NC to host the 2009 ACNP Summit.
The intention of the ACNP Summit is to create a “think tank” atmosphere in which NP leaders from across the country come together to identify debate, share and collaborate on issues specific to acute care NP practice. The objective of this meeting is to accelerate discussion around ACNP practice to augment the efforts of national organizations.
The intended audience includes NP leaders, educators and administrators.
