The Duke University School of Nursing is proud to be the first nursing school in the state to offer a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. We will welcome our first cohort of students this fall 2008. The distance-based curriculum affords BSN and MSN prepared nurses the opportunity to work while attending the program. As nursing leaders in interdisciplinary healthcare teams, graduates of the DNP program will work to improve systems of care, patient outcomes, quality and safety.
The role of the Clinical Research Manager (CRM) is a rapidly growing and exciting career field particularly suited for nurses as well as for other health care professionals. Nurses who are graduates of the CRM specialty obtain the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree and health care professionals from fields outside of nursing may complete a slightly modified curriculum to obtain a graduate certificate in Clinical Research Management. All MSN core courses and CRM specialty courses are offered both on campus and online.
The Nursing Informatics program is a rigorous Duke distance based program with a reputation of excellence and is built on a philosophy that expert nurses, with solid clinical experience, are best able to analyze, design/develop, implement, and evaluate information systems that could improve both nursing practice and patient care.
