Starting on January 21 through April 10

12-week courses are offered by El Centro Hispano through the HISPAmericano Institute in collaboration with Duke School of Nursing and the Latino Health Project at Duke University.

Two-hour classes will be held weekly as follows:


Level 1

No previous Spanish knowledge required

Monday 3:30 - 5:30 - at Durham Regional Hospital in Durham , NC 27704
Wednesday 5:30 - 7:30pm - at Duke South Clinic in Durham, NC 27710


Level 2

Prerequisites: basic grammar, simple medical dialogues

Wednesday 3:30 -5:30pm - at Durham Regional Hospital

Thursday 5:30 - 7:30p.m - at Duke South Clinic


Level 3

Prerequisites: verbs present tense, numbers, direct and indirect pronouns and medical vocabulary

Tuesday 5:30-7:30pm - at Duke South Clinic


Level 4

Prerequisites: verbs past tense and command, idiomatic expressions, medical vocabulary

Available upon request


Level 4 Plus

Prerequisites: to know the grammar and medical vocabulary of levels 1,2,3,4
Available upon request

The cost is $200 per student**. Book not included.
