Donna Biederman is one of two recipients of the 2016 Duke Employee Community Service Award given by the Duke Office of Durham and Regional Affairs. The award recognizes Duke employees for their service in the community.

Biederman was nominated by the City of Durham Community Development Office for her work on a Durham transitional care program to connect homeless individuals with housing, medical care and community resources.
