Broome, Derouin and Students Xavier and Price Take A Trip to Capital Hill to Meet with Congress

Dean Marion E. Broome, Anne Derouin and PhD student Rose Mary Xavier and ABSN student Misha Price recently took a trip to Washington, D.C. as part of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Spring Congressional Requests. AACN member deans, faculty and students convened in Washington, D.C. to meet with Members of Congress to educate them on the importance of federal support for nursing education, research, and practice.

Derouin also serves as an AACN Faculty Policy Fellow.

According to AACN, programs that help strengthen the nursing pipeline, contribute to the foundation of evidence-based nursing science, and support nurses' ability to practice to the full extent of their education and training are essential components to a better tomorrow for our nation's health.
