Read his nomination below:

"I was really happy to see this article about Dinky Brown, who showed compassion to them when there was no exit.   WTVD says, “One man is being singled out for his Good Samaritan actions after he was stuck in traffic on I-85 with hundreds of others Tuesday evening. His name is Thomas 'Dinky' Brown. Brown lives in Mebane and works at Duke. Tuesday evening, a wreck shut down I-85 for hours. Hundreds of drivers were stranded on the interstate as authorities investigated the crash. He not only works at Duke but his actions are a major part of what keeps Duke School of Nursing faculty, staff, and students moving forward every day.  I am therefore nominating him for a Commitment to Excellence Coin." ~ Selnatta Vereen, Human Resources Manager
