Call for Abstracts: Duke Health Quality & Safety Conference

All interested Duke Health and Duke affiliated health care professionals, including GME trainees and Duke Health professions students, are invited to submit projects for a virtual poster session.

All interested Duke Health and Duke affiliated health care professionals, including GME trainees and Duke Health professions students, are invited to submit projects for a virtual poster session for the upcoming Duke Health Quality and Safety Conference. Abstracts will be selected by a committee based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance to Patient Safety and Quality Needs: How relevant is the abstract to the current needs of the healthcare landscape? Would this abstract seem beneficial and appropriate given the current needs?
  • Clarity and Specificity: Does the abstract present a clear problem statement, goal(s), evidenced-based approach and the use of a performance improvement methodology and scientific thinking?
  • Demonstrable Results:  Does this abstract include real, measurable results?
  • Spread Potential: Does this abstract provide practical value? How readily applicable/transferable are its lessons? Will attendees be able to go home and make real improvements based on the work of this abstract?
  • Innovate:  Does this abstract provide an innovative approach to patient safety and quality needs?

All abstract submissions are due by Friday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m.  No late abstracts will be accepted. Notification of acceptance will be sent will be sent by Friday, Jan. 7.
