Read their nominations below:

"I would like to nominate Danett Cantey for her continuing commitment to excellence in the Duke University School of Nursing. Danett works diligently with our ABSN students in the CND to strengthen and refine psychomotor skills and clinical reasoning. When particular students struggle with clinical skills, she is quick to develop a customized learning plan, work with the student until objectives are met, and then communicate student success to the appropriate faculty. Students report enjoying working with her as an instructor because of her calm and encouraging demeanor. We thank you for your commitment to student success and support for the success of all our students as they work to become proficient, safe, profession nurses!"

"On behalf of the Let’s DU Lunch program, we would like to nominate Teresa Jenkins for the Commitment to Excellence award. Teresa has been an amazing addition to our program as she provides valuable guidance on navigating the DUSON financial structure for reimbursements. As of today, she has completed over 350 reimbursements for the Let’s DU Lunch Program! Teresa began working with our program in August 2015 and has been a wonderful team player and partner in the school-wide project. Her support and assistance in processing reimbursements has been invaluable to the smooth functioning of the program and making sure that students and faculty had the correct approval forms, and that program funds were being used judiciously. Teresa consistently exhibits a superb and ongoing high level of service to everyone. When we have requested documents about our current budget or the reimbursement status for lunches, she has always answered very rapidly. Additionally, she includes pertinent information on the reimbursement forms completed so that we can go back and cross reference documents if needed. With this information we can run the program so easily and identify areas to improve upon for next year. The documentation she completes and then the reports she runs are high quality and very helpful. Additionally, Teresa is engaged and dedicated to this DUSON program. Over the past year, she has performed a significant and exceptional role in the implementation of the Let’s DU Lunch program. Without her assistance, we would not have been able to scale up this program (we have almost quadrupled in size from the pilot program!) and have it remain successful."
