"I would like to nominate Wendy Conklin for a “Commitment to Excellence” Award. Wendy serves as a financial analyst for a major federally funded project, for which I serve as co-director. The project is particularly complex, as during the most recent funding cycle, the project merged 4 different funding streams across two different schools within Duke and the DUHS, requiring the creation of multiple budgets. 

Wendy has provided outstanding support for this project, helping to mentor other financial analysts who are new to Duke, and also modelling the highest level of professionalism in joint budget meetings.  As my co-PI said recently “When Wendy asks ‘What can I do to prepare….’ I always know she will follow through!” It is often said that “excellence is a habit” – and Wendy Conklin is a true model of excellence.  Our School and the larger Duke community is all the better for her habit of excellence!" ~ Eleanor McConnell
