"I am pleased to nominate Bonita Douglas for the Commitment to Excellence Award for her role as staff assistant in the Clinical Health Systems & Analytics Division. She provides excellent customer service at all times. She provides a high level of service to me and to everyone she serves. Bonita approaches each task with a positive, can-do attitude and a smile on her face—no matter how big or small the task is she always has a smile for everyone. Her personality and professionalism speak well of her. 

I trust her with assignments as she always completes my requests with an upbeat attitude.  She is also open to re-doing work whether it is my error or hers.  I feel like I have a real partner in education.   It is important to trust the people you work with to 'have your back'. Bonita consistently demonstrates a commitment to exceptional work. She wants to know if there is anything amiss.  I am a very demanding Sakai user and I pay attention to details.  If all of the faculty she supports are like me, her smile must get worn out!  This semester she added an adjunct (who is teaching the third section of “my” course) to her load.  I felt very shy about asking her to do this; however, she didn’t bat an eye.

"I would like to nominate Bonita Douglas for a Staff commitment to Excellence award. In the FA 2016 semester, Bonita supported 6 sections of N590 Advanced Physiology (155 students in the class). In the N590 course there were 12 live classes per week for 10 weeks over the course of the semester.  Bonita’s assistance in dealing with the live class scheduling and re-scheduling, tracking the live class attendance and scheduling student meetings with me were duties that went above and beyond the normal requests for support. Additionally, during this same semester Bonita supported me in the N925 Physiology course and, incredibly, was able to keep pace on her other usual support duties for me. I really appreciate her help and she gave an enormous effort in assisting me so I wanted to nominate her for this award." ~ Julia K.L. Walker
