I highly recommend Keysha Hall for the Commitment to Excellence Award. Keysha is competent in many areas, but for me, the critical area is in Sakai. She has developed all of my Sakai courses, and they not only meet quality standards but exceed them.

Keysha has web design and graphics experience, and she can take my plain Word documents and create professional appearing modules. One of my indicators of quality with Sakai is how much troubleshooting is needed once the course opens and how many students experience problems with the Sakai course. My Sakai courses are carefully set up to avoid problems, and Keysha has developed multiple assessment strategies to ensure the course is designed effectively before it opens.

On a personal note, she goes “beyond the call of duty” to schedule conference calls and meetings, prepare agenda and minutes, find articles and complete other tasks that are so helpful to me. Keysha should be recognized for her excellence in performance and her commitment to helping faculty. ~ Submitted by Marilyn Oermann

Drs. Carter and Crego would like to recognize Vickey Keathley for demonstrating not only excellent team work but for taking initiative and providing in-depth orientation to seven new clinical instructors for the Nursing Care of Infants, Children and Adolescent course and being a dedicated mentor to all of our clinical instructors. Typically the course faculty are responsible for this, but Vickey has taken over this responsibility without asking, meeting individually and as a group with these new instructors. This type of interaction will provide immeasurable support for what is a challenging job.

Vickey is an expert pediatric nurse that freely shares her knowledge and expertise with nurses at the clinical sites where she works and with all the students that have the benefit of working with her in clinical, lab or simulation. She is particularly skilled at helping students identify areas for improvement in their clinical performance and then works individually with the student, giving them opportunities to improve and honest feedback. It is clear from her actions that she is committed to making clinical the best learning experience possible for her students while encouraging students to develop patient-centered and evidence-based care practices.

I am so grateful for her expertise that she shares with us, the students and clinical instructors. She is an amazing nurse educator who is a role model for all of our students and clinical instructors, and she does this with an amazing positive attitude! ~ Submitted by Brigit Carter and Nancy Crego
