I wanted to write and pass along some information my new advisee group shared with me last week at orientation. At least four of them shared why they chose Duke over multiple other schools. Predominantly it was from the personal service they received, mostly from Nora Harrington in admissions and Chloe Hayim in Financial aid. They talked about hand-written notes that Nora sent them and stickers they received. One student shared that Chloe was amazing with the time and patience she had demonstrated with the student and her mom- answering all their questions and getting them set. They talked about the personalized treatment they received from everyone they came in contact here at Duke, and compared it to the stark differences at the other schools they applied to.  It made me proud and happy to hear and thought you would like to know. 

Thanks to them so much for what they do for the students!! It pays off and really makes a difference!!
