Hendrix Publishes Articles, Presents at Conferences and Assumes Co-Chair Role with VHA

Cristina Hendrix published an article entitled "Implementation of a delirium assessment protocol in an inpatient hospice setting" in the June issue of the Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing. The article was co-authored with DNP graduate Alison Harrison, Robert Smith, Beth Martin and Jennifer Pursley with Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, and Mary Champagne.

Hendrix also made three presentations this past Spring. In April, Hendrix made a paper presentation entitled "Improving Delirium Assessment for Older Veterans: the Elder Care in Hospital (ECHo) program" at the 2016 Annual Conference: Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders in Chicago, IL. In May, Hendrix made a poster presentation entitled "Primary Care Provider Type for Veterans with Diabetes" at the 12th Annual AAMC Health Workforce Research Conference in Chicago, IL. She also made another poster presentation entitled "Interpersonal continuity of primary care of Veterans Health Administration patients with diabetes" at the 2016 Academy Health Annual Research Meeting in Boston, MA.

In addition, Hendrix also assumed the co-chair position of the VHA Office of Nursing Services - Nursing Research Field Advisory Committee for 2016-2017. She will assume the chair role in 2017-2018.
