Morgan Receives NCNA Commendation Award

Brett Morgan was one of 14 individuals recently awarded the 2016 Board of Directors Certificate of Commendation by the North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA) for exemplary leadership in building strong, collaborative opportunities to move nursing forward.

A news release from NCNA stated that Morgan has spent a significant amount of time during his tenure as president of the North Carolina Association of Nurses Anesthetists (NCANA) working to find opportunities for the two organizations to collaborate and build a stronger relationship. With his help, NCNA and NCANA have become close partners in the legislative and political arena.

Aside from political advocacy, his interest in building a leadership development program resulted in NCANA members participating in NCNA's Leadership Academy - the first time the organization has ever invited another organization to take part in the program.

Morgan received the award at an Awards Luncheon during the NCNA 109th Annual Convention held in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Other award recipients included longtime nurses, well-respected volunteers, and legislators.
