Relf Awarded Researcher Recognition Award

Michael Relf was recently awarded the Researcher Recognition Award at the 2017 annual conference of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC). This award recognizes an individual, group or organization who has made significant contributions through research affecting the quality of life of individuals living with and affected by HIV disease, and the quality of care nurses provide to people living with HIV disease. Relf's research focuses on the psychosocial aspects of HIV with a special interest in HIV-related stigma. He, or as a member of a team, has been funded by the National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Nursing Research; the Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS) of the HIV/AIDS Bureau, Health Resources and Services Administration/DHHS; the Division of Nursing, Bureau of Health Professions, Health Resources and Services Administration/DHHS; the President’s Emergency Plan for HIV/AIDS; Sigma Theta Tau International; the American Nurses Foundation; the Kaiser Family Foundation; and RTI International. His work has appeared on the front page of The Boston Globein The Washington Post and Toronto Star and in reports by the former Institute of Medicine and the World Health Organization.
