Kudos to Ryan Shaw and his entire team for the submission of their Subcontract proposal on a University of Wisconsin-Madison NIH R01 application entitled "Using Partners to Enhance Long-term Weight Loss." This proposal requests funding for a five-year period with a start date of April 1, 2018.

Abstract: In this study, Dr. Shaw will lead the technology component of the intervention. This will include using the software platform he and his team developed and manage for mobile health clinical research and care to send text and e-mail messages to patients and spouses. This platform also integrates data from wireless devices such as scales, activity monitors, and dietary apps. Duke will also provide expertise on social support processes in the context of the weight loss intervention involving partners.
