Simmons Publishes Article in Advances in Integrative Medicine

Leigh Ann Simmons recently published an article entitled "Integrative Health Care Services Utilization as a Function of Body Mass Index: A BraveNet Practice-Based Research Network Study" in the February issue of Advances in Integrative Medicine. Co-authors include experts from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, Vanderbilt University Schools of Medicine and Nursing in Tennessee, Duke Clinical Research Institute, Duke University School of Medicine, University of California, and Duke Center for Applied Genomics and Precision Medicine.

Abstract: Obesity is a significant public health issue with no consensus regarding optimal medical management. Integrative medicine (IM) may help to fill this gap. Obese adults seeking IM care may represent a unique patient population with potential unmet health needs. IM may provide approaches to more effectively address the multifaceted complexities of obesity.
