Solorzano Receives Senior Honors Recognition

Rosa Solorzano was recently recognized by Duke President Richard Brodhead with the inaugural Senior Honors recognition.

Class of 2016 graduates were encouraged to participate in the senior class gift, called the "Seniors for Duke" campaign. This year, they launched the Senior Honors initiative, which allows seniors to make their gifts in celebration of a persona t Duke who made a special impact on their Duke experience.

Student Adriana Gandarias gave a gift in Solorzano's honor and shared the following recognition, "Rosa is a really good professor and person. She is really sweet and enthusiastic about what she teaches. She is like a mother to students and is a great addition to Duke faculty. I consider her a valuable mentor who has really taught me a different way to look at life. It has also been very important to me to be able to have had a role model who is from Latin America that I have been able to identify with."

Solorzano was invited to join other honorees and all Seniors for Duke donors at a special reception in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens.
