George (Trey) Turner serves as interim Lead Faculty for the Clinical Research Management specialty in the MSN Program. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy at Auburn University and a Master of Arts in Health Facility Management at Webster University (St. Louis, MO and Denver, CO). Mr. Turner is a U.S. Army veteran. While in the military, he served as director of Pharmacy Services and as a clinical pharmacist at hospitals and medical centers across the United States and in the Far East. He has served as an IRB member at three tertiary care teaching medical centers. At Duke University Medical Center, he served continuously as an IRB member from 2000 to 2009.

Trey Turner has had extensive training and experience in pharmaceutical project management and regulatory affairs. As a senior military officer, he served as Director of the Pharmaceutical Project Management Division at the U.S. Army Medical Material Development Agency and as Chief of the Regulatory Affairs Office for the Department of Defense at the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command. Prior to coming to Duke University, Mr. Turner worked as a clinical research scientist and clinical trials manager in the pharmaceutical research industry at Cato Research in Durham, North Carolina.
