LOS ANGELES, CA – Donald Bailey, Jr., PhD, RN, presented the 2011 Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) State-of-the-Science Lecture, “Illness Uncertainty in Adult Cancer Patients,” today during the ONS 11th National Conference on Cancer Nursing Research in Los Angeles. Bailey is an associate professor at the Duke University School of Nursing in Durham, NC.

Bailey, Fuchs, Tanabe Selected for Fellowship in American Academy of Nursing

Associate Professor Chip Bailey, Mary Ann Fuchs, DNP'10, and Associate Professor Paula Tanabe will be inducted as Fellows in the American Academy of Nursing during the Academy’s 39th Annual Meeting and Conference on October 13, 2012, in Washington, D.C.

Composed of the nation’s top nurse researchers, policy makers, scholars, executives, educators, and practitioners, the 2012 cohort is the largest class of inductees yet.

Duke Representation at Southern Nursing Research Society 2012 Conference

Adams Receives NIH National Research Service Award

PhD student Judith Adams, with mentors Chip Bailey, associate professor; Ruth Anderson, Virginia Stone Professor of Nursing; and James Tulsky, received an award for her NIH National Research Service Award application entitled "Family Perceptions of Nursing Strategies to Facilitate End-of-Life Decisions." This award supports stipend and fellowship expenses for two years with a start date of August 1, 2012.

Adams Presents at 2012 State of the Science Congress on Nursing Research

PhD student Judith Adams gave a podium presentation entitled "Finding Your Way Through End-of-Life Challenges in the ICU: Adaptive Strategies That Work with Families" at the Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science 2012 State of the Science Congress on Nursing Research in Washington, D.C., September 13-15. She co-authored the abstract with Ruth Anderson, Virginia Stone Professor of Nursing, and Chip Bailey, associate professor.
