Carter Appointed Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion

Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) recently announced the appointment of Brigit Carter, PhD, MSN, RN, CCRN, as its first Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion (ADDI).

The role of Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion was created to strengthen and enhance the diverse community. DUSON’s core values actively promote diversity, inclusion and the valuing of differences that exist in the community.

Dean Broome and Colleagues Publish Article in Journal of Nursing Scholarship

Dean Marion E. Broome and colleagues recently published an article entitled "Revisiting the Quality of Reporting Randomized Controlled Trials in Nursing Literature" in Journal of Nursing Scholarship. 


Purpose: To examine and update the literature on the quality of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) as reported in top nursing journals, based on manuscripts' adherence to the CONsolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) guidelines.

Interdiscplinary Nursing School Expansion Groundbreaking Celebration

A groundbreaking celebration was recently hosted at DUSON for Duke Health's newest building where there was a short ceremony to celebrate the collaboration between the School of Nursing and the School of Medicine for our new building. The new building will be the future home of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Division and offices of the School of Nursing, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Interprofessional Education and Care.
