Certificate Students

To apply for federal student loans:

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using 2016 income tax information - DUSON School Code 002920

Additional FAFSA Instructions For Post-Bachelor’s Certificate in Health Informatics students ONLY:

  • In the "Current Grade Level" field, type "5th year undergraduate."
  • Please note that parent information may be required for the FAFSA if the federal government determines that you are a dependent student (based on questions asked on FAFSA pertaining to age, marital status, etc.).

Report any outside funding sources (i.e. Duke employee or other tuition benefits, military or veterans funding, outside scholarships, etc.) to the DUSON Financial Aid Office.

Please note: Specialty Certificate students are NOT eligible for financial aid.

Financial Aid Award Timeline

We recommend completing the FAFSA after applying for admission but before receiving acceptance. Financial aid awards for newly admitted students will be emailed within two weeks of acceptance and may also be viewed within Applicant Self-Service.

Continuing student financial aid awards will be emailed and available on the Duke Hub by the end of June.
