After graduating from high school, I served on a mission trip with my church in an underserved area of the world. After that experience, I aspired to choose a career where I could help others. Serving as a nurse allows me the opportunity to provide for my family while helping others and truly making a difference.

I earned my first degree at DUSON through the family nurse practitioner program and loved my experience. Now, I’m earning my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Post Graduate Certificate. DUSON helps its students broaden their sight in the nursing field and increase their nursing practice to help them become leaders in their field.

With the current evolving landscape of health care, I wanted to be sure that I knew how best to navigate the profession now and in the future. Duke provides training that creates better health care providers and gives foresight and professional connections to continue growing excellent practitioners into the future.

There are many policymakers and rising industry leaders who are making national, regional and community-specific changes based on the education received at DUSON.

When I graduate, I’ll be able to practice in a rural area and hit the ground running on day one after having mentorship and clinical direction from some of the most notable leaders in their fields.
