To be eligible, applicants must be a registered nurse or advanced practice registered nurse, such as a nurse practitioner, working at a critical shortage facility, or serving as a nurse faculty at an accredited eligible school of nursing. In addition, applicants should be interested in working with underserved communities in high need areas throughout the U.S. or its Territories.
The program is expected to be competitive and applicants are encouraged to begin the application process early. On average, it takes a few weeks to complete an application. Several documents will be required to submit a completed application; therefore, we encourage applicants who plan to apply to begin obtaining the required loan verification and supplemental documentation, letters of recommendation, and official school transcript.
