Drs. Marilyn Hockenberry and Cheryl Rodgers were guest editors of a special edition of the Journal of Pediatric Oncology Nursing, where six articles focusing on pediatric hematology/oncology nursing evidence-based practice projects were highlighted. Drs. Hockenberry and Rodgers mentored and co-authored three of the EBP projects and provided guidance to mentors of the other three projects. Each EBP project consisted of a team of pediatric nurses and other interdisciplinary members who conducted a comprehensive literature review then developed synthesized recommendation statements about a nursing care topic specifically targeted for pediatric hematology/oncology patients.
