SAS Workshop offered by the Office of Research Affairs

John Boling will be offering a SAS basics workshop Monday, January 6, thru Wednesday, January 8, 2014. The workshop will consist of half-day morning sessions, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM, in the Learning and Organization Development offices at 402 Oregon Street, room 104. If you are interested in attending the workshop, please contact John Boling no later than December 20th, to reserve your place.

This workshop will familiarize you with SAS Version 9.4. It will introduce you to the basic concepts of the SAS system necessary for reading, manipulating, listing, and analyzing your data using SAS programming statements in the DATA and PROC steps. No previous experience with SAS is required. However, the course assumes knowledge of programming constructs.

Specific topics include:  introduction, getting started with SAS, working with SAS Syntax, getting familiar with SAS data sets, reading SAS data sets, reading Excel worksheets, reading delimited raw data files, validating and cleaning data, manipulating data, combining SAS data sets, enhancing reports, and producing summary reports.
