Michael Zychowicz and team submitted a HRSA application entitled "Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship (AENT)" requesting funding for a two-year period with a start date of July 1, 2012.
With support from the Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship, students will be able to overcome financial barriers to advanced practice nursing education. The primary care graduates will help to alleviate the demand for primary care clinicians nationally. The Duke University School of Nursing has a rich history of providing nurse practitioner education with many of its graduates choosing careers in primary care. Student support through this project is critical in assisting us to continue to meet the growing need for primary care providers by adding expert clinicians to the primary care workforce.
