- November 11, 2021The Duke University School of Nursing’s ongoing partnership with the Veterans Affair (VA) Health Care System prepares current and future nurse practitioners (NPs) to adequately care for and support the U.S. veteran population. The partnership encompasses the VA Health Care System in Durham as well as ones across the country.
- November 11, 2021On Tuesday, Nov. 30, Dean Vincent Guilamo-Ramos will address social determinants of health, examining historic large-scale health and socially transformative events that have elevated the profile of nurses in safeguarding the health and well-being of the country. The virtual event will be held from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m., and registration is required. The event will be held in English with simultaneous interpretation available in Spanish.
- November 4, 2021Michelle Xue, PhD student, and her advisor Eleanor McConnell, associate professor, have received an award for their Southern Nursing Research Society (SNRS) Dissertation application entitled: “Dynamics of Symptom Experience and Functional Recovery in Nursing Home Residents with Dementia after Hip Fracture Surgery.”

- November 2, 2021HyunBin (Binnie) You, PhD student, gave a Zoom presentation on Monday, Nov. 1, at the Duke Palliative Care Grand Rounds with Deepshikha Caran Ashana. The presentation was about “Racial disparities in ICU shared decision making” and presented the preliminary findings of the team’s ongoing research project using rapid qualitative analysis.
