Log2Lose is an 18-month research project at the University of Wisconsin (Madison, WI) and Duke University (Durham, NC) focused on helping people build habits for a healthier lifestyle. Everyone will receive a well-researched weight management program* led by Registered Dietitians that focuses on developing habits for a healthier lifestyle. We do not teach a "diet" or restriction of any specific food or food group.
Participants will attend online group classes and one-on-one phone calls where they will receive personalized support and feedback Everyone will be encouraged to track their weight and log their food in a cell phone app. Participants will receive motivational text messages, participate in surveys, and have their weight and blood pressure measured.
The project team is interested in understanding how weighing regularly and logging food impacts weight. Weight loss, and maintenance of weight loss, can do the following:
- Lower high blood pressure
- Ease up on joints
- Cut your chances of cancer
- Prevent Type 2 Diabetes
- Promote good cholesterol
- Stop sleep apnea
- Improve diabetes management
- Enhance mood
*Participants in similar studies typically lost 10-20 pounds. Individual results may vary.
