Suzanne Hallquist, MSPH, MHS, PA-C
Suzanne Hallquist, MSPH, MHS, PA-C is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health and a clinician at Duke Primary Care South Durham. She joins the IPEC leadership team as an Assistant Director representing the PA program.
Ms. Hallquist’s early career was in public health, earning an MSPH in epidemiology from Emory University and working at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for nearly a decade. She later returned to school, earning an MHS in PA Studies at Duke University and launching a dual career in clinical practice and education.
Ms. Hallquist’s professional interests include collaborative practice models, patient-provider communication, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. As a medical educator, Suzanne is recognized for her engaging and pragmatic teaching style and was the recipient of the PA program’s 2025 Treadwell Teaching Award. In the clinical setting, Suzanne serves as a preceptor for NP and PA students and is a passionate advocate for interprofessional training and delivery of care.
