Allen Cadavero, PhD, RN, CCRN, joined Duke University School of Nursing as assistant professor on November 1, 2018 as a member of our Healthcare of Adult Populations Division. Prior to joining as full time faculty, he was known to the DUSON community through his work as a clinical instructor in our ABSN program, an MSN program alum, and an active member of our Beta Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau. Cadavero brings more than 20 years of clinical experience in critical care, medical-surgical nursiing, perioperative nursing, home health, and wound management most recently as a cardiothoracic critical care nurse in the Duke Heart Center, to his faculty role.

Previously, Cadavero was on the faculty at Alamance Community College where he taught adult health concepts including medical-surgical nursing, critical care, and fundamentals and was an NLN Ambassador and a certified nurse educator.

He earned his BSN from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, MSN in Nursing Education from Duke and a PhD in Nursing Education from Villanova University.
