School of Nursing Centers and Partnerships
Duke University School of Nursing’s centers and partnerships empower professionals and scholars in key areas of nursing practice, research, and community health. Center for Nursing Discovery - CND
The Center for Nursing Discovery (CND) is a state-of-the-art simulation center that offers a variety of instructional methodologies to support Duke University School of Nursing. The CND integrates real-world scenarios with advanced simulations, building critical skills in clinical reasoning and patient care. As the only accredited nursing simulation center within Duke University Health System, the CND supports our mission to provide innovative education in the nursing field.
Center for Nursing Research - CNR
The Center for Nursing Research (CNR) provides resources for faculty, students, and Duke University Health System practicing nurses and researchers to advance nursing and interdisciplinary science. Through four research pillars — health innovation, population health, precision health, and data science — the CNR supports groundbreaking studies that optimize health outcomes and advance evidence-based practice in the nursing field.
Duke Advancement of Nursing, Center of Excellence - DANCE
The Duke Advancement of Nursing, Center of Excellence (DANCE) is a unique collaboration between nurses in Duke University School of Nursing and the Duke University Health System. DANCE provides career-long support and fosters professional growth through education, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. DANCE empowers nurses to lead and innovate across healthcare settings, advancing the quality of care and patient outcomes.
Community Health Improvement Partnership Program - D-CHIPP
The Community Health Improvement Partnership Program (D-CHIPP) is a School of Nursing initiative formed out of our five-year strategic plan to address community health improvement. Together with community partners, D-CHIPP aims to support individuals and families through service, education, scholarship and research, and clinical services. D-CHIPP programs promote health equity and support vibrant, productive lives for community members in the Durham area and beyond.
Duke Health Center for Interprofessional Education and Care - IPEC
The Duke Health Center for Interprofessional Education and Care (IPEC) is a dedicated hub that brings healthcare professionals together through collaborative programs and pathways. This School of Nursing initiative is committed to transforming the culture of care into a team-based model, preparing Duke learners to deliver high-quality, coordinated care. By fostering teamwork, IPEC aims to improve health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.

Office of Global and Community Health Initiatives - OGACHI
The Office of Global and Community Health Initiatives (OGACHI) was established to manage and promote local, regional, and international activities for the School of Nursing. OGACHI supports students and faculty in addressing health disparities and promotes culturally sensitive nursing leadership. Through partnerships, OGACHI strengthens Duke’s role in global health and community engagement while advancing the mission of Duke University School of Nursing.
Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging - DEIB
The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) is committed to ensuring a supportive environment where every member of the Duke nursing community feels valued. Through mentorship, task forces, and programs, the DEIB Office promotes a culture of belonging, encouraging School of Nursing students, faculty, and staff to engage in building an inclusive, equitable space that reflects our core values.
Office of Academic Innovation and Evaluation - OAIE
The Office of Academic Innovation and Evaluation (OAIE) leads the design, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the School of Nursing’s systematic evaluation plan. OAIE manages program assessments, course evaluations, and accreditation processes to ensure Duke nursing students achieve their learning outcomes. This office plays a key role in maintaining the high standards of Duke University School of Nursing’s educational programs.
Institute for Educational Excellence - IEE
The Institute for Educational Excellence at Duke University School of Nursing reflects the renaissance in the higher education community regarding the formation of pedagogical scholars, the preparation of faculty for the teaching role, and the need for evidence-based teaching practices. The IEE is responsible for collaborating with the School’s Director of Faculty Affairs to coordinate the orientation of all new full-time faculty.
Office of Faculty Affairs
The Office of Faculty Affairs supports the School of Nursing’s regular-rank faculty in their professional development and academic roles. From recruitment and peer review to tenure and career advancement, this office provides resources and guidance that foster a supportive environment for faculty excellence. Through ongoing collaboration, Faculty Affairs strengthens our commitment to high-quality nursing education and research.
Business Office
The Duke University School of Nursing Business Office supports faculty and staff with essential finance and HR services, such as budgeting, payroll, recruitment, and staff development. Our dedicated business team members manage a wide range of tasks, from payroll to grant administration, ensuring the efficient operation of the School of Nursing. The office also facilitates the school’s work-study program, providing students with valuable employment opportunities.
