2018 Clinical Instructor Intensive

The Institute for Educational Excellence (IEE) 2018 Clinical Instructor Intensive took place on Friday, August 10, 2018. This year’s conference focused on clinical education at both the undergraduate and the graduate level of nursing education. The conference had more than 70 people in attendance including the speakers and planners. Attendees came from nine US states to learn and develop as clinical educators! Additionally, visiting faculty from Barbados, China, Oman, the Philippines and Taiwan, here in conjunction with the summer elective course NUR555 (Exploring Global Patterns of Health and Illness), were able to attend and participate. The speakers were motivating and provided attendees with lots of food for thought and ideas for improving teaching strategies.

Next year’s Clinical Instructor Intensive will prove to be even better, so plan to attend! For more information, contact Beth Phillips at beth.phillips@duke.edu

A special congratulations to Angela Richard-Eaglin, the IEE's newest Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) with the National League for Nursing (NLN). Angela participated in the IEE's CNE review course this past spring! If you are interested in pursuing your CNE (faculty) or your CNE-CI (for clinical educators), please email Beth Phillips at beth.phillips@duke.edu for more information.
