2019 Student Ambassador Program Now Accepting Applications!

Duke University School of Nursing is currently accepting applications for the Student Ambassador Program for the 2019 academic year.   We encourage interested students to Apply Now The deadline is Feb. 11th, 2019.  Once applications are collected, we will notify students regarding interviews. Our goal is to have our Student Ambassadors up and running before the summer of this year. 

The goal of the student ambassador program is to develop highly trained nursing students who are knowledgeable about the School’s mission.  The DUSON ambassadors will represent the School of Nursing demonstrating a high level of school pride and exceptional service at all times.

It is the responsibility of the ambassador to:

  • Represent the School (Information Sessions, Reunion Weekend, ABSN Family Day, Nursing Alumni Council and Dean’s Board of Advisors meetings, Graduation Recognition Ceremony, Lectures, Interview Days etc.)
  • Provide campus tours
  • Provide operational support for DUSON new student orientation, admission and alumni events/activities

To be considered in the 2019 Student Ambassador Program, you:

  • Must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program at the School of Nursing
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must conduct oneself professionally according to the Duke University School of Nursing Personal Integrity policy and Duke University Code of Conduct.
  • Students must be local (live in the area)
  • Must attend any training sessions and or meetings scheduled for Ambassadors

To maintain your status as a Student Ambassador, you:

  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Must maintain a 3.25 Grade Point Average
  • Must not be in violation with any School of Nursing and/or University policies and standards

Student Ambassadors will be paid $10/hr for their time worked.
