2020 Duke Graduate Summer Academy

The 2020 Duke Graduate Summer Academy offers week-long short courses that introduce Duke graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to skills, tools, and knowledge that augment their regular coursework and research. These short courses help emerging scholars prepare for high-level research, innovative teaching, leadership, and/or public engagement. Program dates for the 2020 Duke Graduate Summer Academy are Monday, May 18 – Friday, May 22, 2020. Please note that one course, Teaching with Archives, will be held from Tuesday, May 26 – Friday, May 29, 2020. Morning sessions run from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Afternoon sessions run from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.

2020 Graduate Summer Academy CoursesCourses cover topics that are not typically included in a graduate curriculum, or that provide an intensive introduction for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who might not have the time or inclination to pursue a full course in a subject. Each course meets for three hours a day for five consecutive days. Space permitting, participants may choose up to two courses. There is no cost for Duke attendees. All Graduate Summer Academy classes meet on Duke’s campus. Most classes meet at the Fuqua School of Business; a few classes meet elsewhere on campus. Individual class locations are noted on the course list. Registration for Duke doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows is now open. Registration for Duke master’s students will begin on March 16, 2020.
