ABSN Students and Alumna Participate in Moral March

Seven current ABSN students and one ABSN alumna recently joined hundreds of healthcare professionals and healthcare professional trainees in the "White Coat Group" at the Moral March on Raleigh. The Moral March is the Triangle's largest activist march organized by the NAACP and is in its 12th year. ABSN students participated as part of Duke's chapter of Students for a National Health Program (SNaHP). SNaHP's goal is to educate others about and advocate for universal healthcare in the U.S.

The nursing students joined healthcare professional trainees from Duke University School of Medicine and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. The White Coat Group donned healthcare professional garb to visually represent healthcare worker support for healthcare for all.

The Duke University School of Nursing students pictured at the march are second semester ABSN students: Katie Starr, Teniyah Ogan, Briana Shipley, Jessica Denis, Nicole Toomey, Whitney Nash, Melissa Blender and ABSN alumna Hari Khalsa.
