ABSN Students Help Count Durham Homeless During Annual Event

Second semester ABSN students recently volunteered their time to help with the annual Durham Point in Time count. The annual event sends teams of volunteers out into the night to count the number of homeless individuals in Durham. A follow up event, Fresh Start Connect, invites those homeless individuals counted to the Durham Bull Athletic Park in March to access health screenings and supplies, get an identification card, sign up for eligible benefits, among other services. ABSN students in N397 Community and Public Health Nursing who volunteered their time were led by associate professor Donna Biederman and Assistant Professor Irene Felsman.
