Addressing the ADD/ADHD Crisis on College Campuses Beta Epsilon Event Recap

After a short chapter business meeting, the Beta Epsilon chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing honor society sponsored an engaging panel presentation "Collaboration of Health Care Professionals to Address ADD/ADHD Crisis on College Campuses." Over 60 people attended and enjoyed dinner while listening to six panelists. The program was developed by ABSN students Madeline Porter and Katelyn Sowinski, with a special interest in this growing issue. A delicious dinner of lasagna and salad from Foster’s Market was served.

On the heels of this event, a small group of chapter volunteers spent a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 30, helping with Durham’s Big Sweep event. Lem Scott, Nancy Crego, Kathy Trotter and Laurel Holland and a friend met at East Durham Park. Mr. Scott also brought his son to help, including blowing leaves from the curb and basketball court. Our next community service event will be Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. for a Habitat Build day. Please email Lemuel Scott at lemuel.scott@duke.edu if you’d like to participate.
