Kesha Rooks, MSN'18, DNP'21, was one of seven honorees featured in Halifax Community College's “Saluting Our Local African American Heroes” celebration on February 25. Heroes are chosen based on their commitment and contributions to the community, unselfish devotion to others, initiative, innovation and leadership, and willingness to share time and wisdom through community service.

Rooks is the chief operating officer, Rural Health Group, Inc. Rural Health was also a recipient of one of the college's Community Bridge Builder Awards for their COVID work.
