Heather Paradis, MSN'95 and member of the DUSON Nursing Alumni Council, is featured in Duke Cancer Institute's "Fighting on Both Sides of Cancer Care" article. Paradis cared for cancer patients at Duke University Hospital as a hematology-oncology nurse practitioner for 27 years and lost her husband to chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. In his memory, in 2019, she established the Heather and Eric Paradis Cancer Support Fund, an endowment that supports an additional clinical psychology intern at the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program.
