Alumni Harvey Receives AANA Alice Magaw Outstanding Clinical Anesthesia Practitioner Award
Alumni Randolf Harvey recently received the 2016 Alice Magaw Outstanding Clinical Anesthesia Practitioner Award during the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Annual Congress in Washington, D.C.
The award recognizes the accomplishments of certified of certified registered nurse anesthetists who are involved in direct patient care. The recipient of the award receives recognition by peers as a person who has made an important contribution to the advancement of nurse anesthesia practice.
Harvey is passionate about teaching CRNAs, anesthesiologists and ophthalmologists the intricacies of ophthalmic anesthesia, in particular orbital blocks. He has created and teaches an ophthalmic block workshop, and also has authored a chapter on anesthesia for ophthalmic procedures in the textbook and study guide entitled “Nurse Anesthesia.”
Harvey earned his certification in anesthesia from Duke University is 1980.
