Attention Students: NSWB Offers Alternative Spring Break

Nursing Students Without Borders along with Curamericas Global offers nursing students an alternative spring break and an opportunity to jumpstart your nursing degree!

Join DUSON for a service learning trip to Guatemala during March 10 - 19, 2017 for spring break. During the trip, students work alongside community health workers in rural indigenous communities to provide health outreach and services as well as training for project staff. Students will reside in the rural mountains of Guatemala’s northwest region, where poor socio-economic conditions, lack of education for women, and limited access to health services have contributed to infamously high rates of child and maternal mortality.

This trip provides hands-on experience in working with disadvantaged populations and cross-cultural communication with Guatemala medical staff and patients.
