Biederman, Gonzalez-Guarda, and Noonan Participate in Population Health Research Forum

Devon NoonanRosa Gonzalez-GuardaBiedermanDonna Biederman, Rosa Gonzalez-Guarda and Devon Noonan, associate professors, recently took part in the Population Health Improvement Awards Community Research Forum. The event, held at The Community Family Life and Recreation Center at Lyon Park and hosted by the CTSI Community Engaged Research Initiative (CERI), brought together researchers and community partners to present findings from CTSI funded research projects. CERI Co-Directors Jennifer Gierisch and Gonzalez-Guarda moderated the Population Health Improvement Grant presentations. Biederman, along with community partner Ashanti Brown from the Durham Housing Authority, presented findings on their research project, “Mental and Physical Health Correlates of Eviction from Durham’s Public Housing.” And Noonan discussed findings of the project, “Developing and Pilot Testing a Community Health Advisor Smoking Cessation Program for Durham Public Housing Residents” alongside Dr. Laura Fish from Duke Family Medicine and Community Health, Natalie Rich from Durham Public Health, and Community Health Advisors who live in Durham Public Housing communities.
