Donna Biederman, associate professor, was invited by Dave Richard, deputy secretary of NC Medicaid, to serve on the NC Housing Leadership Committee (HLC) for a five-year term. The HLC will provide guidance for the development and implementation of a statewide housing plan for vulnerable populations including persons experiencing homelessness and those exiting institutional settings. Biederman was invited to the committee due to her extensive experience with housing as a social driver of health. The project will begin in September 2021; Biederman is excited to represent nursing on this important statewide initiative.
