Blending the Blues - IPE Faculty Development to Avoid the Tragedy of Miscommunication at End of Life

On May 8, an inter-institutional, interprofessional collaborative presents "IPE Faculty Development to Avoid the Tragedy of Miscommunication at End of Life" at DUSON from 1-5 p.m.

Miscommunication during end of life can significantly impact patients and family members. This interprofessional faculty development workshop will provide strategies to improve communication, cultural competence and patient/family centered care in the educational setting. Relevant issues and related practice examples concerning end of life care will be explored with role play using standardized patients and engagement with an expert panel. 

Learn more about the elements of collaborative practice including responsibility, accountability, coordination, communication, cooperation, assertiveness, autonomy and mutual trust and respect. Create interprofessional teams designed to work on common goals to improve patient outcomes.
