Jacqueline Brown, research program leader, represented DUSON in a panel presentation through Duke Office of Clinical Research’s Research Professional Network, with other clinical research staff and investigators to discuss experiences with diversity in clinical research recruitment and engagement as well as her participation in the “Just Ask” program — a program that addresses inclusiveness and diverse representation in clinical research. The event took place on October 22.

Brown discussed the importance of communication and building trust with research staff and subjects. The presentation was entitled, “Diversity in Clinical Research: What We’ve Learned” and was facilitated by Nadine Barrett with Duke School of Medicine's Family Medicine & Community Health. The presentation was well received, and a Town Hall will be held in the near future with panelists and presenters for a Question & Answer session.
