Clinical Associate Gamble Honored as NCNA Practice Nurse of the Year
Julia Gamble, clinical associate, was recently named Practice Nurse of the Year by the North Carolina Nurses Association. Three days a week Gamble sees patients at the Duke Outpatient Clinic who are frequent users of the emergency room, walk-ins, and/or who have complex pyschosocial needs. The remainder of her time is spent working with Donna Biederman, associate professor, and Project Access of Durham County on the Durham Homeless Care Transitions research project.
"Julia is a remarkable clinician and extraordinary human being," said Biederman. "She has had a positive influence on the many homeless persons she has provided care for, those her many other initiatives have touched, and her colleagues and students fortunate enough to work with and learn from her."
